"you're doing a great job"
So they are working on making a staff kitchen. It will be for a select few of us and it will also be where the cook will make one meal a day for the whole crew. They are making this kitchen in an existing trailer but it is sort of coming out of nowhere. It is so neat to see them run the gas and water lines and move whole doors replacing a wall where the hole was. I know these things are possible...i do theater where we make things for imaginary people everyday...it's just different. Anyway I was in the kitchen cleaning it up and doing the dishes when Dale - the boss - came over to check things out. I had some questions about what was going where and what sort of extras we would have (microwaves, toasters, etc.) because there were no outlets near by the counter and i didn't know if we were going to run extension cords or reroute outlets to power all of these things. He answered my questions and then said "hey if no one has told you yet - you're doing a great job. you've just jumped right in and you've got a great attitude and i just thought you should know." And i have to tell you it just made my heart soar. Not that i wouldn't continue to work just as hard but it really helps to hear that you are doing "a great job" especially when you're still figuring it all out and are a little unsure (and when you spend lots of time in a toilet bowl going a little crazy.) So there it is...I'm doing a great job and it feels really good.

I'm very glad to hear that you're being appreciated, and I'm more than 100% sure that he was telling the truth. You go on with your awesome-itude. Awesomeness? Awesomeicity? You rock.
