7:29am Kenai, AK
I am the sole worker at the plant today. And that is fine by me because that might equal quiet time for me.
As i was walking to the snack shack - "my office" - this morning i looked up and saw it...the green light flashing. That means the shit is going down...or rather it's not and that's the problem. The light is the indicator that we need to get the men to come and give us a pump. Dale usually likes to pump the tank before it's full but they couldn't come the other day. I am having a personal dilemma...wake Dale and Bobbie or not wake Dale and Bobbie. I know for a fact they were out drinking last night and were up late.
I finished work at 7:15pm last night. Molly and Charlie were planning on going to Kenai Landing - the closer bar that we walk to. So i figured i would meet them after work. I stopped by Dale and Bobbie's trailer to pick up the asparagus that Bobbie left for me and then walked it over to the outside fridge...because i'm guessing that's what you do with asparagus. When i got there the Ukrainian kids were in the outside kitchen enjoying the borscht they had just made, with Dale and Bobbie. They invited me to sit and have some. Not wanting to be rude and having never tried borscht i had a seat. Apparently it is usually served with sour cream or mayonnaise neither of which i am too fond of or can knowingly add to my food so i went it alone. They even had Ukrainian bread that they brought with them - it's pretty dense. note to self - if in Ukraine avoid food fights where flying bread is involved. Anyway, it wasn't bad, a little too peppery for me and i came at the tail end of the feast so most of the potatoes and meat were gone but it was still nice to be part of the experience and to get to try borscht made by people who know borscht.
I gotta go. Michelle saw the light too. She woke up Dale and Bobbie and now i have to run around a put signs on all of the toilets and sinks. The pump truck can and does come on sunday's and it is a wake up-able problem. Answer found.
