7:36am Kenai, AK
I just got to watch my first boat go in the water! It's a very exciting morning here at Inlet Salmon (or if you're illiterate and from Michigan - Slamon.) They drove the boat lift over to the boat, got the straps up on underneath it, lifted the boat, pulled the wood blocks it was resting on, lifted it some more, drove the pretty lady on over to the water, and then when it got to the end of the dock they gently lowered it in. I was there dutifully taking pictures - it being my first time watching a real boat go in the water. I was all excited. I was standing there poised and ready for the boat to hit the water...when my camera died! Ain't that just the way it goes. I guess now I know how guys feel...
okay time to make the donuts. pictures later...after i charge my battery

Nothing like some good Slamon Salmon to make your day. :)
Hi Meredith,
Thank you for sending the link to your blog. I read your most resent posts yesterday, and made it a point to go back to the beginnings this evening. You are a pleasure to be with in person, and equally a pleasure to read.
Most notable to me are your words and feeling for your Grandma. You are going to miss her. You’re going to hurt too. And yes you will probably have those questions about knowing this or that, or some things big and some small, nuggets of her life. Some you will find out, still others will remain her own intimate mysteries forever, no matter your want or need.
Yet there is something you have that is very special and shared only between you and your Grandma.
Care to know what it is? (Yes Frank, Tell me!) (Good answer!!!)
You and your Grandma share the special intimacy of all the things you have ever done that put a smile on her face!
Think about it Meredith, especially when your hurting and missing her.
Remember those silly things you did?
Remember her smiles?
Talk about cause and effect!
I think you will find both priceless. I’m certain your Grandma did.
God Bless you Honey,
Frank D.
